This series consists of a U.S. Civil Service Commission-produced slide presentation entitled "An Inventive Bunch". The subject of the presentation concerns the technological and social contributions rendered by Federal employees. Some noteworthy examples: Food and Drug Administration employee Dr. Frances Kelsey's rejection of the use of the drug Thalidomide in the United States; the development of radar by two Naval Research Laboratory scientists in the 1920s; and the invention of freeze-dried orange juice concentrate by Agricultural Research Service scientists, to name a few. Included is a copy of the script for the presentation.
